What can change for an applicant

Jobstreet by SEEK showed employers a set of AI hiring tools on 24 September 2026, at its Jobstreet Connect event. Rappler reported the set under the name seekAi.

If an employer turns those tools on, your application can be matched, ranked, and explained against that employer’s criteria. Some shortlisted people may also get an AI voice screen, and the employer may send reference checks through the tool.

The actual applicant experience depends on the employer’s setup and which seekAi features that employer uses. A Jobstreet account does not mean you will meet every feature.

What the SEEK page says

The public employer page, checked on 26 September 2026, is titled “AI at SEEK.” It describes the workflow under the name Assist. These are SEEK product statements.

Personalised Targeting is the section that says SEEK’s AI learns from the market and from that employer, so it can look for people who fit that business.

On ranking, the page says Assist scores and ranks applicants against the employer’s specific hiring criteria, explains why each person is a strong fit, and delivers a shortlist.

On interviews, the page says Assist conducts AI voice interviews that add context on top candidates. It does not say applicants can answer by text. It does not say this screen replaces the employer’s own interview.

On references, the page says Assist handles the reference-check process: it reaches out, collects structured feedback, and delivers a summary.

SEEK’s employer page says the system uses “750M+ trusted employment signals captured daily.” That number is a SEEK company claim. Pinoy AI Works has not independently verified it.

What reporting adds

Rappler’s 25 September report is a separate account from the product page. It says seekAi was unveiled on Thursday, 24 September, and that candidates can complete a pre-screen voice interview on their own device and on their own time, before a human recruiter steps in.

Rappler also describes ranking, suggested next steps for recruiters, automated reference checks, and help identifying people who may fit an employer. It describes Personalised Targeting as learning from the job, the employer’s preferences, and earlier hiring, rather than from keywords alone.

In that interview, Jobstreet managing director Dannah Majarocon told Rappler: “AI is there to support, but the decision is always on the employer and on the candidate. What AI will do is give you recommendations.”

A Jobstreet write-up carried by Dot Daily Dose on 24 September uses the name seekAi and describes Personalised Targeting and Assist. Treat that page as the company’s account, not as an outside check of the results.

What this does not mean

Nothing on the SEEK page or in the Rappler report says the AI makes the hiring decision. Majarocon’s line to Rappler keeps that decision with the employer and the candidate.

A rank against an employer’s criteria is a sort order for that employer. A lower place on a shortlist is not a rejection by itself.

The pages use hopeful language about saving recruiters time and finding a better fit. Pinoy AI Works is not treating those lines as proof that your application will be treated more fairly, or that you will hear back sooner.

You may never see a voice screen. You may see only a normal application. Ask the employer what the next step is if the message is unclear.

What you can do

  • Keep your Jobstreet profile and CV facts accurate and consistent.
  • Prepare concise spoken answers for common screening questions.
  • Answer screening questions truthfully rather than trying to game AI.
  • Make skills and experience explicit instead of relying on vague descriptions.
  • Prepare or alert references where appropriate.
  • Verify the employer’s identity and the normal Jobstreet safety signals.
  • Remember that human hiring processes still matter.

How this was checked

The product wording for Personalised Targeting, ranking, fit explanations, AI voice interviews, reference checks, and the 750M+ line was read on the SEEK employer page on 26 September 2026. Rappler’s report was opened the same day. The Dot Daily Dose page was opened as the company write-up dated 24 September 2026.

The SEEK page no longer uses the word seekAi, and it no longer says a candidate can answer by text. Those limits are reflected above. Company lines about being more likely to apply, or about hours saved each week, are left out. They are not on the employer page checked today, and they are not Pinoy AI Works findings.

Put this into practice

If an AI may screen your application, practise the interview and tighten your resume first.
