What you will make

A short request for a Barangay Clearance only, plus questions about the fee and what to bring.

What you need

The purpose the employer or office wrote, your barangay and city or municipality, and any fee they already told you.

Before you start

Do not paste an employment contract, a police record, or a full ID. A Barangay Clearance is not an NBI clearance and it is not a Certificate of Indigency.

What to do

  1. Copy the purpose from the employer, permit desk, or other office.
  2. Write your barangay. Leave the fee, cedula rule, and validity as To confirm unless the hall already told you.
  3. Paste the prompt. The letter must say Barangay Clearance.
  4. Confirm the fee and the papers at the hall, then file the request yourself.

Try this prompt

Name the purpose. Do not ask for an NBI or police clearance in this letter.

Help me prepare a privacy-safe request/checklist for a Barangay Clearance using only facts I provide. Do not invent local requirements or claims about my record.

PURPOSE
Receiving office/person: [OFFICE / EMPLOYER / SCHOOL / OTHER]
Purpose stated by them: [EXACT WORDING]
Barangay and city/municipality: [GENERAL LOCATION]
What the receiving office specifically requested: [BARANGAY CLEARANCE / EXACT WORDING / TO CONFIRM]
Current barangay instructions I have already verified: [FACT + OFFICIAL/LOCAL SOURCE + DATE / NONE]
Documents I already have: [GENERAL DOCUMENT NAMES ONLY]
Fee/validity/claiming instructions the barangay already told me: [FACTS + SOURCE/DATE / TO CONFIRM]

RULES
- Keep the document name Barangay Clearance. Do not substitute NBI Clearance, Police Clearance, Certificate of Residency, Certificate of Indigency, or another document.
- Never invent eligibility, a cedula/community-tax-certificate requirement, proof type, required ID/document, number of copies, fee, validity period, processing/claiming time, signatory, appearance requirement, purpose restriction, or a finding about my record.
- Barangay practices can differ. Treat a requirement as current only when supported by a dated official/local source.
- Preserve the receiving office’s exact purpose/wording when supplied.
- Do not ask me to paste full IDs, full home address, account details, or unnecessary sensitive documents.
- If a requirement or fact is missing, write “To confirm” rather than guessing.
- Draft only; do not request, pay, submit, book, or contact anyone for me.

OUTPUT
1. Short respectful request letter/message (under 180 words) with privacy-safe placeholders for personal details I should add offline if required.
2. Confirmed-vs-To-confirm table: requirement | status | source/date.
3. Questions for the barangay covering required papers/IDs, fee, validity, processing/claiming, copies, and any purpose-specific requirement — without assuming any of them applies.
4. Privacy-safe bring-list containing ONLY documents/items I said I already have or requirements confirmed by a current source.
5. Final check: exact certificate title, stated purpose, current requirements, fee, validity, where/how to request, and claiming instructions.

Before finishing, run a claim audit: every requirement, fee, validity period, document, deadline, and statement about my record must trace to my supplied facts/current source or be labelled “To confirm.”

Illustrative example. Your answer may differ.

Input (illustrative): Purpose: new employer asked for a Barangay Clearance. Name: Ana Reyes. Barangay Sample, Quezon City. Papers, fee, and validity: To confirm. Example result: The letter asks only for a Barangay Clearance for that employer. It does not mention NBI, a fee, or a police finding. The questions ask which papers to bring, whether a fee applies, how long it is valid, when to claim it, and how many photocopies to bring.

Before you use it: Confirm the fee and the papers on your barangay's own posting or with the secretary. Do not pay an amount that appeared only in the AI draft. A Barangay Clearance does not replace an NBI clearance when the employer asked for NBI.

Try this follow-up

Keep the name Barangay Clearance. Remove any fee or police finding I did not type.

If the answer is not right

If the letter calls it an NBI clearance, a police clearance, or a Certificate of Indigency, delete that name and ask for a Barangay Clearance only.

Philippine notes

  • A sample Citizen's Charter may show a local clearance fee. That figure is not a national fee. Ask your own hall.
  • If the office wrote NBI clearance, use the NBI preparation notes after they are checked. Do not rename it to Barangay Clearance.
